Ahern: Nice verdict not good enough

- "Say it like you mean it," demands premier

Enough of the messin'

The Taoiseach has announced plans to hold another referendum on the Nice treaty within the next twelve months. Bertie Ahern blasted the Irish public by saying the "verdict wasn't good enough", and so wants to see a bigger Yes win the next time around, more than the 63% to 37% victory dismissed this time around.

Fianna Fail and the PDs are already gearing up for the new campaign, what they hope will be a unanimous victory for the yeses. "We want to show everybody that we're really great - not 63% great, but maybe 85, 87% great" continued the Taoiseach "and that nobody in Ireland has anti-European feelings".
